Downtown Walla Walla Foundation Appoints Mallory Nash As New Executive Director

The Downtown Walla Walla Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Mallory Nash as its new Executive Director, effective early September 2024. Nash succeeds Kathryn Witherington, who departed at the end of June.

Nash most recently served as Executive Director of the Downtown Pullman Association in Pullman, Washington, where she played a key role in advancing the Main Street Approach.

“I’m excited to join the talented team at Downtown Walla Walla Foundation,” Nash said. “DWWF is a trailblazer in the Main Street community, and I’m honored to be part of the collective effort that has shaped its success.”

Bringing a decade of experience in community engagement and a master’s in education from the University of Arkansas, Nash has built a strong reputation through her various roles across the country. Recognized for her energetic and passionate leadership, she is well-equipped to make a significant impact in Walla Walla.

In her role at the Downtown Pullman Association, Nash was instrumental in advancing the Main Street Approach by connecting businesses with essential resources, advocating for the downtown community, and orchestrating events that boosted foot traffic. She also played a crucial role in preserving Pullman’s historic character by facilitating connections between property owners and local and state resources. Her leadership was particularly notable during a challenging 7-month infrastructure project that closed Main Street; her efforts were key in maintaining community engagement and supporting local businesses, reinforcing DPA’s role as a vital organization to downtown revitalization.

Reflecting on her new role, Nash shared, “As a newcomer to Walla Walla, I’m looking forward to building connections within this community. Joining the Foundation is an opportunity to understand local needs and support the things that are most important to its residents.”

“We are thrilled to have Mallory join us at the Downtown Foundation,” said Brian Hansen, Board President and Chairperson for the Search Committee. “The search process was both thorough and rewarding. The number of impressive candidates that applied for the position was a reminder of just how significant the Downtown Walla Foundation is to our community.”

“Mallory brings energy, Main Street knowledge and passion to our team. I expect she will quickly gel with our outstanding staff and help us write the next chapter for the Foundation.
