The Maple Counter Cafe will be hosting an exclusive live music engagement featuring early jazz and blues from Bellingham!
The distinguished quartet includes:
Devin Champlin (The Sons Of Rainier/Champlin Guitars) rhythm guitar, fiddle
Kevin Buster (Golden Earrings Jazz Band/Kevin Buster Saxophonist) rhythm guitar, soprano sax, percussion
Pace Rubadeau (Pace Trumpet) muted trumpet, vocals
Alex Larson Kubiak (The Hot Tomatoes/Bang Bang and the Bad Medicine) clarinet
This curated ensemble is making the journey from Bellingham to Walla Walla on Saturday to perform their honed blend of prohibition-era tunes for incarcerated inmates on good behavior at Washington State Penitentiary. This concert is a rare opportunity to bring nostalgic therapy through one of the few non-gospel concerts held at the historic facility.
Join the band the following morning for a free sidewalk performance at Maple Counter Cafe!
Expect songs and singalongs inspired by the 1920s and 30s. They’ll be set up between the Cafe and Counter Side Burgers & Fries to draw in prized passersby with an enchanting acoustic sound offering something for everyone.
