Build, Grow, Inspire: Sustainable Garden Practices

  • Green Park Elementary Garden 1105 East Isaacs Avenue Walla Walla, WA, 99362 United States (map)

Rey Cooley is the Sustainable Living Center’s very own Farm to School Program Manager. She moved to Walla Walla for the opportunity to farm and continues to follow her passion for local food systems in the work she does with the Sustainable Living Center, Walla Walla Valley Farm to School, and at Welcome Table Farm.

Join the Sustainable Living Center at Green Park Elementary School Garden for this hands-on workshop. Learn about sustainable gardening and how no-till and no-dig practices can enrich your soil and benefit the environment. Rey will also discuss the importance of local procurement of food for schools and residents.

Get ready to get your hands dirty and learn about how to create abundance in your own yard. This workshop will take place outside, so please bring water, wear closed-toe shoes, and clothes you feel comfortable gardening in.

The Sustainable Living Center is so grateful to have Rey share her expertise with our community through this workshop! They are introducing a pay-what-you-can model for workshop registration because they believe the cost of a workshop should not be an obstacle to discovery and learning! This workshop is open to the public. Registration is required.
