Summer Concert Series: Coyote Kings with Tiph

  • Heritage Park Square 116 East Main Street Walla Walla, WA, 99362 United States (map)

Please join us for free live music from two bands every Saturday night through September 9.

Since 2006, bluesrockers Coyote Kings have been performing and recording, winning awards, collecting rave reviews, and playing to enthusiastic audiences and devoted fans. With five albums released and one on the way, “that little ol’ band from Walla Walla” has established themselves as a musical force in the northwest and worldwide.

In 2014 vocalist, Michelle "Mush" Morgan, and drummer, Curtis Johnson, left for other pursuits. The band was reborn as Robin Barrett and Coyote Kings, with Robin’s writing, singing, and sometimes blistering (but always tasty) guitar work fronting the band and Kit Kuhlmann on bass and Gordon Townsend-Farr laying down the groove.

Robin Barrett and Coyote Kings received the 2014 Empire Award for “Best Blues Band” and Robin for “Best Blues Guitarist.” Following their 2013 award winning fourth album, Nasty Habits & Dirty Little Secrets, Robin Barrett and Coyote Kings’ album Howl won the 2015 Empire Award for “Best Blues CD!”

Tiphony Dames was born and raised in Harlem, NY. As a child she loved dance and singing in church. She also sang at the Apollo Theater when she was only 10 years old! After an injury brought her dreams of a dance career to an end, her focus turned more to music. As a young adult, Tiph moved upstate to attend Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs.

After receiving her Bachelor’s degree, she moved to the Tri-Cities, where Robin first saw and heard her perform. She began doing festivals and events with Coyote Kings in the early summer of 2015. Since then, her overwhelmingly infectious energy has been helping Robin Barrett and Coyote Kings wow audiences show after show. Tiph’s career has just begun. Following the success of her 2017 self-titled release with Coyote Kings, Tiph was again featured on Coyote Kings’ Rocket in 2019. Coyote Kings with Tiphony Dames continue to light up stages across the northwest.
