The Final Bow

  • Cordiner Hall 345 Boyer Avenue Walla Walla, WA, 99362 United States (map)

The Final Bow will be a performance in honor of Idalee Hutson-Fish’s 45-year history of teaching dance and 38 years of directing The Dance Center of Walla Walla as her retirement closes the doors to her iconic ballet studio this June. This performance will be an evening of excerpts from her greatest choreographic works and moments from her favorite ballets she once performed. All danced by current and former The Dance Center of Walla Walla students. Join us for The Final Bow.

June 2024 will mark the closing of The Dance Center Of Walla Walla. We will bid farewell to 45 years of Idalee Hutson-Fish, enriching the community’s lives with performing arts and the highest form of technical ballet training.

Idalee Hutson-Fish, Founder and Director of The Dance Center of Walla Walla, has created a lasting impact on the community through her years of dedication to the performing arts community in Walla Walla, WA. In 1976, the first performance at the Fort Walla Walla Amphitheater brought her here to perform. Since then, she has taught at Whitman College, choreographed, directed, and taught thousands of students the gift of dance.

Through the art of ballet, she has the beautiful ability to inspire the soul as well as the body. We want our dancers to “dance from inside out.”

The Dance Center space will be occupied starting July 1, 2024, by the Walla Walla Summer Theatre, a non-profit group offering performing arts opportunities, classes, and workshops, and our sponsor for The Final Bow performance. They are revitalizing the Walla Walla Amphitheater, which was the very reason that brought Idalee to Walla Walla, which is coming to a full circle moment to pass off her legacy.
