Workshop: Recycled Fabric Wreaths

  • WWCC Water and Environmental Center 640 Water Center Drive Walla Walla, WA, 99362 United States (map)

Join the Sustainable Living Center and Julie Christian to learn how to make a recycled fabric wreath. Julie is a designer, maker, and observer who is happiest when wandering through nature and thrift or resupply stores to find inspiration and supplies for her art projects.

In this workshop, we’ll play with color and texture to create festive wreaths by repurposing materials such as sewing or thrifted fabric scraps or notions; ribbon, wire or string from packaging; damaged clothing; and stray buttons or jewelry.

The Sustainable Living Center will supply the wreath structure and other supplies. They also encourage you to look around your home for some of the materials mentioned above, as repurposing objects from your own life can bring extra interest and meaning to your wreath.

Sustainable Living Center workshops utilize a pay-what-you-can model for workshop registration because they believe the cost of a workshop should not be an obstacle to discovery and learning. This workshop is open to the public. Registration is required.
